to the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® SERIES
The STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® SERIES is an international competition series in timber felling. It has its roots in sports timber felling in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the USA. To establish the best fellers locally, competitions in timber felling have always been held amongst forestry workers. This "testing one's strength" approach has developed over time into a competition at a high sporting level.
In 1985, ANDREAS STIHL AG & Co. KG brought into being the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® SERIES as a championship series in the USA. The SERIES has meanwhile established itself as the premier class in sports timber felling. Competitions are held both nationally and internationally. The STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® SERIES started in Europe in 2001. National championships in all the European countries and also a European championship have truly established themselves. Since 2005, the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® World Championships have seen the best timber fellers in the world meeting regularly.
In a contest comprising 6 disciplines, it us up to the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® SERIES athletes to demonstrate their entire knowledge with both axe and saw. Victory or defeat is very much a matter of strength, endurance and handling the appliance to perfection.
