1) The forged blanks are sawn off from rolled C60 tempering steel. |
2) The red-hot blank is shaped on a forging press and the hole is made for the eye. Excess burring is removed. |
3) The glowing blade is beaten out on the forging roll. |
4) Final shaping under the forging hammer. Trimming excess material and rough-grinding the axe. |
5) Permanent marking by means of a stamp bearing the manufacturer’s symbol. Tempering (hardening and tempering) the cutting edge ensures hardness and toughness. |
6) Sand-blasting the surface. Fine-grinding the cutting edge. A crowned cut increases stability. Transparent varnish protects the axe head from corrosion. |
7) Inserting and clamping the handle. The triple clamp provided by one wooden wedge and two ring wedges ensures a lasting and safe connection. |
